VASERlipo® may be able to deliver the body contouring results you have been dreaming about. This refined approach to liposuction delivers additional fat removal through ultrasound energy, leading to an even more sculpted, toned physique.
Liposuction Improved
VASERlipo is not an alternative to traditional liposuction. Rather, it is an enhanced technique that leverages the power of ultrasound energy to emulsify unwanted fat from surrounding tissues at the treatment site.
After the fat has been separated from the tissue, it is removed through the traditional liposuction method of a vacuum-like device called a cannula. Using additional technology like VASERlipo is not uncommon; the surgeon can deliver even greater results by merging liposuction’s negative pressure fat removal with additional fat-burning or emulsifying procedures.
How It Works
Prior to liposuction, the surgeon targets fat in the treatment site with ultrasound energy using the VASERlipo device. Energy is delivered through probes that look similar to a cannula, but they are solid rather than hollow.
The energy emitted by the probes emulsifies the fat, releasing it from the surrounding tissues so it can be removed entirely by the cannula.
The benefits of VASERlipo allowed a skilled surgeon to deliver additional benefits to their patients:
- A smooth effect. Because the fat is broken down into smaller groups of cells, the final liposuction results can be smoother and more refined.
- High-definition impact. Greater control over the contouring process allows the surgeon to sculpt the treatment site with unmatched precision.
- Skin tightening treatment. VASERlipo allows for more aggressive fat removal and, by extension, a more natural tightening effect. However, liposuction is still not a viable treatment for skin laxity or excess skin after weight loss or pregnancy.
Will VASERLipo Help Me Lose Weight?
Although liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, it can enhance the appearance of areas that are affected by persistent fat. Ideal liposuction candidates have excess fat deposits that do not respond well to diet and exercise. The most common treatment sites include the arms, abdomen, waistline, buttocks, hips, and thighs.
It is best to remember that liposuction is for contouring, or sculpting, the body rather than losing weight. If you are currently unhappy with your overall weight, then you should take steps to reach your target range prior to exploring liposuction or other body contouring procedures.
